In the spring we host the Container Garden Gala featuring containers planted during demonstrations by local nurseries and florists.
In December we host a Holiday Floral Extravaganza and watch lovely holiday floral arrangements being made on stage by professional local florists.
In both shows our audience members' ticket stubs are drawn for each arrangement and they bring home the lovely creations at the end of the evening. Both shows include an informative description of each arrangement, discount coupons good at the featured florists, gift basket drawings, and Bake Sale goodies and refreshments.
All garden club members participate preparing and displaying signs and posters, making yummy baked goods, and a committee also makes delightful gift baskets for a separate drawing for charity. Members dress in matching colors, pink in spring, and red in winter. Our audience members tell us they have lots of FUN!
In 2010 we presented a new fundraiser: a local Garden Walk featuring some of our Garden of the Month winners and other wonderful gardens in the area.
